The answers to Jesus’ question, “But who do you say that I am?” will vary according to your religious beliefs, church denomination, culture, or family upbringing. Perhaps this is why Jesus presented His diversified group of disciples with this personal query. (Matthew 16:13-26, KJV)
As we Christ-followers share our testimonies and faith with others, let’s not forget to share the simple, unified truth of who Jesus is. The three scriptures below will help affirm your faith and witness to others.

Who is Jesus?

  1. Jesus is who he claims to be: The Son of God – And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” (Hebrew 11:6-10, ESV)
  2. Jesus promises his Spirit to live within you – “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” (John 14:15-17, ESV)
  3. Jesus helps you discover your life’s purpose – Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12, ESV)
